Here's a fix.
Follow these steps
- Go to: https://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.
- Log in with your Apple ID.
- Click on “edit products”
- Click on the “x” to the right of the product.
- Click “unregister”
Additionally you can avoid this problem entirely if you deactivate your iMessage before switching from your iPhone to another mobile phone platform (BlackBerry, Windows, Android).
